COOL WEATHER COLOR
Pansies
"Pansy" comes from the French "pensée," meaning "thought," for the bloom's resemblance to a pensive human face. Pansies come in a wide variety of colors and sizes, and are perfectly adapted to our cold Colorado months. Planted in the fall, pansies will survive the winter with occasional watering and will give your landscape beautiful color through the spring. Violas, sometimes called Johnny Jump Ups, are a simply a miniature version of a pansy, usually between the size of a nickel or a quarter. Both pansies and violas can be used in beds and containers, and the varieties can be mixed to create a stunning, textural display. See below for a glimpse into the new pansies for this season.
